Paper Towns – John Green

Paper Towns is a novel written by John Green. Margo and Quentin are the two main characters. They are neighbours and know each other for a long time already, although the story plays when they are about 16 years old. The main thing that happened in the story was that Margo disappeared and didn’t come back. Quentin was very worried about her so he started looking for hints on where she could be. In the end of the novel, he finds her, although it isn’t a very happy end.

My favourite part of the book was when Margo turns up in Quentin’s room one night and tells him to come with her. He came with her although he didn’t know why she told him to come. Later, the reader finds out that they went on a tour to revenge the people who have hurt Margo’s feelings. I like this part of the book since it is very funny to see what they think of as revenge and how the people react.

I didn’t really like the end of the book. This is because when Quentin found Margo, they kissed and I thought it was a happy end, but right after, Margo said that she didn’t want to date Quentin and he was left heartbroken. It turns out that Margo didn’t want to be found. I didn’t like the end that much since I was expecting a happy end, but there was none.

I think this book would be interesting for people who don’t necessarily need a happy end to like a book. For example, I was disappointed when the book didn’t have a happy end and it kind of ruined the story for me.
